A new Italian restaurant at the base of Uptown’s tallest tower will soon open its doors. Élephante, a coastal southern Italian restaurant, will open Sept. 1 at 2701 Maple Ave. The location puts Uptown’s newest restaurant addition at the base of 23Springs – the neighborhood’s tallest tower at 26 stories.

Élephante will be the largest restaurant at 23Springs with service running across two stories and an outdoor patio. Inside, the restaurant will span 9,800 square feet and fit 270 guests. Outside, an additional 1,250 square feet will fit 78 more. The menu is rooted in Italian seafood dishes and a lot of vegetables, with a portion dedicated to pastas and wood-fired pizzas. A first taste of the menu includes Branzino, or a European sea bass, grilled octopus, Margherita pizza, whipped eggplant and a vodka sauce pasta.
