Granite provides employees with comprehensive medical, dental, vision and prescription benefits. Employees are eligible for our competitive Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plan beginning on their date of employment.
Group Term Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance are provided at no cost to our employees and are insured by The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc.
Short Term Disability is a free employee benefit covering non-occupational illness or injuries. Long Term Disability is available through The Hartford and covers non-occupational illness or injuries.
The Granite 401(k) plan is offered through Vanguard. Granite matches the employee’s contribution on a dollar for dollar basis up to the first 6%. All employees are eligible to participate and are fully vested as of their first day of employment.
After 30 days of employment, eligible employees may be reimbursed for up to $2,000 per calendar year for approved tuition, fees and books.

Employees are eligible to use to up 40 hours a year, inclusive of travel time, to volunteer at non-profit organizations.
Granite will match dollar for dollar charitable donations:
Granite will reimburse an employee up to $50 per event for participation in runs, walks, and rides for non-profit charities that qualify as a 501(c)(3). Maximum amount of $250 per calendar year.
To help employees acquire computer products for use at home, Granite will reimburse up to $1,000 every two years for items such as mobile devices, computers, accessories, and software purchased from any retail establishment.
We show appreciation for our employees by hosting events and activities throughout the year. Promotions, milestone service anniversaries, newly obtained designations and certifications, and leadership positions in industry organizations or charities are always opportunities for us to recognize employees via social media and internally at our quarterly company meetings and semi-annual newsletters. Granite also hosts monthly birthday celebrations, personalized service anniversary notes, and holiday potlucks.
Our Exceeding Expectations Award recognizes one employee in each of our markets that has gone above and beyond to exceed the expectations of a customer. Employees are nominated annually by their peers. The award is announced at our annual holiday party and is presented with a $750 check.
Our most prestigious award, Living the Purpose, recognizes only one employee at Granite whose work-ethic, behavior and performance reflects the values of Granite’s purpose and promises. Employees are nominated annually by their peers. The award is announced at our annual holiday party and is presented with a $1,500 check.
YouEarnedIt is our tool for spreading the word internally about how employees make Granite a great place to work. Team members award each other points by recognizing their efforts. These points may be used to purchase rewards such as gift cards to several stores and restaurants, visa gift cards, a charity donation, and even half days off.
