DALLAS – February 11, 2021 – Granite Properties, a commercial real estate investment, development and management company, announced today that Senior Director of Finance, Ace Roman, has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer effective February 1, 2021. He is now a member of Granite’s Executive Committee, which consists of Michael Dardick, Founding Partner & CEO, Greg Fuller, President & COO, Bill Brown, Chief Investment Officer, Scott Martin, Executive Managing Director and Sheryl Troiani, Chief Administrative Officer.

In his new role, Roman will drive the firm’s financial strategy and continue to be responsible for managing all aspects of Capital, Corporate Finance and Portfolio Management. He will work closely with the Investments Group on deal structuring and partnership negotiations, and all other Granite groups to provide strategic thinking and financial counseling on a full range of business activities. Roman will continue to report to Michael Dardick.

Roman joined Granite as Director of Finance in March 2009. During this time, he structured capital partnerships with major investors, including MetLife Investment Management and Northwestern Mutual. In 2020, he led the negotiations to secure financing totaling $570 million in Dallas, Southern California and Atlanta, including the construction financing for Midtown Union with Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. He established partnerships with coworking firms Industrious and Common Desk, a key component of Granite’s evolve, a collection of flexible office solutions to help companies adapt to their changing office needs. Prior to Granite, Roman served as Vice President, Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch from 2004–2009, and before that as Analyst at UBS Investment Bank from 2001–2003.

Roman holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BBA from Baylor University.
