It’s required at nearly every restaurant, shopping center and booze-slinging bar. It’s stacked high in the city’s newest office towers. Its abundance is evident in upscale Houston neighborhoods where the three-car garage is still very much in vogue.
Parking in Houston has never been more plentiful.
But in the age of ride-sharing apps and on the eve of self-driving cars, discussions of how parking should be provided, where it should be put and how much of it Houston needs are changing. Options are beginning to surface.
