DALLAS – March 8, 2018 – Granite Properties, a commercial real estate investment, development and management company, announced today that Great Place to Work honored Sheryl Troiani, Granite’s Senior Director of Accounting, with an inaugural Great Place to Work® For All™ Leadership Award. The award recognizes women leaders from companies on FORTUNE’s annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For and Best Workplaces for Women. She is one of the 77 award recipients recognized by Great Place to Work.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate Sheryl Troiani with the inaugural Great Place to Work For All Leadership Award,” said Michael Dardick, Founder and C.E.O., Granite Properties. “Her contributions over the past 25 years have gone way beyond accounting. She’s helped us grow and create a culture that’s a great place to work. She has also embraced large-scale projects outside of her field and successfully implemented them. We’re proud of our environment that offers a lot of opportunity for women to lead significant company initiatives to help shape Granite and Sheryl is a great example of that,” he added.
Greg Fuller, President and C.O.O. of Granite, named Sheryl for leading a strategic initiative that had significant impact on customers and the business. Based on feedback from a Customer Experience Initiative regarding safety and security at Granite’s properties, Granite needed to embark on a significant upgrade. Knowing that Sheryl had a passion for this, Granite asked Sheryl to take on a multi-year, cross-company assignment to address the customers’ questions at all the buildings, which includes 8.9 million square feet of property in five cities. Sheryl studied the issues, researched solutions and developed and implemented a change management program that involved many different projects ranging from lighting and new cameras to onsite guard reduction and customer communication. The result was better safety and security for customers at a reduced cost for the business.
“Sheryl is an exceptional systems thinker with a deep knowledge of our operations and great cross-departmental relations. She used her effective change management skills to help our property operations and leasing teams adapt to a better safety and security program and show our customers the benefits. It was a great success and her passion is a catalyst for others to grow,” said Greg Fuller, President and C.O.O., Granite Properties.
Sheryl joined Granite in 1993, and is responsible for directing Granite’s accounting, financial reporting, lease administration, risk management and assisting with acquisitions and dispositions.
“I’m excited to be honored and see this award as a recognition of the opportunities Granite offers to everyone at the company to lead and pursue initiatives they feel passionate about,” said Sheryl Troiani, Senior Director of Accounting, Granite Properties.
Granite has been recognized by FORTUNE and Great Place To Work as one of the country’s Best Workplaces for six consecutive years and as Best Workplaces for Women for three consecutive years.
In announcing the honorees Great Place to Work CEO Michael C. Bush said “We are excited to celebrate the achievements of some of the top women leaders at America’s greatest companies. The companies on FORTUNE’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For and Best Workplaces for Women are leading the conversation in workplace equality and are demonstrating to corporate America on how to become more diverse, more innovative, and great places to work for all.”
